What the heck is Jewish Wedding Blog? I’m so glad you asked!
Jewish Wedding Blog is a place for us to share different couples’ stories and to inspire creative and beautiful weddings. All with a Jewish twist. Come here to look for ways to give your wedding a Jewish touch and share how you gave your wedding a dash of Jewish. We are going to inspire one another with new and unique ideas, stories and pieces of advice.
Who am I? Well, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Aliyah Guttmann, a twenty-four year old modern Orthodox Jewish girl living in Toronto, Canada. From a young age I knew I loved hosting get togethers at my house so by the time I was a teenager I was the official party planner among my friends. From Academy Award viewings, graduation parties (both elementary and high school) and of course, birthday parties. Nowadays it’s the bachelorette stags and bridal showers. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with wedding and event planners, and even coordinated a couple weddings on my own, turning my passion into a profession.
I attended Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women in New York City, where I majored in English with a concentration in creative writing. Writing is another one of my great loves; from fiction to television writing. Straight out of school I was hired by Ketubah.com, learning the behind the scenes world of ketubahs. My job is split between customer service, guiding people through their experience, and running Ketubah.com’s social media from Facebook and Twitter to Pinterest (my new obsession!).
And now I get to marry (pun unashamedly intended) my two loves; writing and everything wedding related. This blog will incorporate a multitude of our interests and ideas when it comes to a Jewish wedding. The latest colors and fashions trends, Jewish traditions, customs, and our heritage.
Share with everyone how you incorporated Jewish traditions into your Jewish Wedding. How did you meet? Did you blend two cultures or religions into your special day? What inspired your wedding? How did you choose your ketubah? Are you a non-traditional couple that put a twist on your Jewish Wedding?
Whether you are an Orthodox, Reform, same-sex, or an interfaith couple, I am looking forward to answering your questions and sharing my knowledge on the things you want to know about Jewish weddings. And vice versa!
I believe that all of these worlds can inspire and transform your wedding into the Jewish wedding of your dreams. Jewish Wedding Blog is going to be where we help, share, and inspire one another.
