If you didn’t tune into the Oscars last night, have no fear! Our editor wouldn’t have missed it for the world. With New York Fashion Week showing us all the beauty we have to look forward to for Fall 2015, the Academy Awards Red Carpet will surely serve as inspiration for the entire bridal party.
BRIDES
Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab Couture I could see brides, mothers, and bridesmaids, alike all taking inspiration from this beautiful gown. I was hoping for a look similar to her Golden Globes gown but taken up a notch, and that’s exactly what she gave us.
Like so many years before Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji should inspire mothers, brides, and anyone
plus size. She dresses with such elegance and body-consciousness that is refreshing to see on a red carpet of this magnitude year after year.
Red dish washing gloves aside, Lady Gaga in Alaia may be the greatest, most fashion forward, unexpected bridal inspiration for years to come.
Faith Hill in a J. Mendel sheath gown and another J. Mendel bridal inspiration was on Rene Russo.
And last, but certainly not least, Anna Faris sparkled in Zuhair Murad Couture.
BRIDESMAIDS
Young Hollywood is where so many 20 and 30-somethings turn to for dress inspiration. As a sister-of-a-groom myself, the favorites I will be looking to are:
Emma Stone in Elie Saab Couture
America Ferrera in Jenny Packham
& Jamie Chung in a Yanina Couture
MOTHERS OF THE BRIDE AND GROOM
Navy has never looked more elegant than on Jessica Chastain’s Givenchy Couture dress.
My #1 pick for inspiration for mothers would be the queen herself, Oprah in a nude Vera Wang gown.
Wang proves that she’s not just about gowns for the bride!
