Embracing Trees Ketubah
by Ruth Stern Warzecha
Ketubah Description
The original of this design is a collage of dappled bark forming tree trunks, multiple fabrics and stitches making leaves. The many materials and patterns symbolize the complexities of life. Two trees embrace and intertwine, growing stronger and illustrating the biblical description of the first marriage: “and the two shall be as one flesh.” The two Hebrew phrases below the tree roots are from the wedding blessings and translate as “the voice of the groom” and “the voice of the bride.” (This is a flat reproduction of the original- there is no fabric or material on each giclee print- only ink.)
