Covenant – Dawn Ketubah

Ketubah Description
God’s covenant with Abraham states: ”In blessing I will bless thee and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven.” (Genesis 22:17) A network of stars inspired by an ancient Japanese silkscreen design form 18 (chai) rays of light surrounding the ketubah text, which is itself a covenant. The parchment (klaf) papercut reveals the Dawning of a New Day.
Ketubah Artist Bio
Temma’s background includes many hours spent with her grandparents in their ladies’ wear store in Toronto. She studied literary symbolism in English and Russian at University of Toronto, and later graduated from Ontario College of Art. Her work has won prestigious awards and is owned by several museums. She is a founder of the Pomegranate Guild,of Judaic Needlework and on the executive of the Textile Museum’s Volunteer Association.
