THE NUPTIAL CEREMONY
The second major component of a Jewish wedding is the nisuin, the official marriage ceremony.
It consists of the following:
1. Although not mandatory, the officiant will often begin the marriage ceremony with an address, making some comments on the Jewish view of marriage, and if applicable, addressing some personal remarks to the bride and groom.
2. A second glass of wine is poured.
3. The Sheva Brachot, Seven Blessings, are recited by the officiant.
4. The bride and groom drink from the wine. The bride, now officially married, may keep her veil lifted after this point.
